I agree with a lot that has already been said in this thread regarding how black and white Savage's thinking is on the matter.
This bothered me a lot though:
I really hate internet/arm-chair pragmatists and I am not seeking to be one when I say this: Just because there are gross injustices in the world really doesn't give anyone the right to be as malicious, and rude.
I am not a Christian, I was not born a Christian and I was not raised Christian. But I did see that the poster was polite, sympathetic, and certainly did not deserve to be accused of that which Savage accused them of.
If I were Mr. Savage, I'd send that person a letter of apology, and take the opportunity to better-expound my stance.
This bothered me a lot though:
Did that hurt to hear? Good. But it couldn't have hurt nearly as much as what was said and done to Asher Brown and Justin Aaberg and Billy Lucas and Cody Barker and Seth Walsh—day in, day out for years—at schools filled with bigoted little monsters created not in the image of a loving God, but in the image of the hateful and false "followers of Christ" they call Mom and Dad.
