I would agree, yet we draw contrasting views from this fact. As for those you mention, lots of people ignore scripture to make themselves feel better. It's no fun to feel guilty, so why not change one's view of the rules? Unlike Old Testament prohibitions that no longer apply, since we're not Israel living under a Theocracy, Homosexuality is mentioned as sin consistently in both the OT and NT.

Actually you can very much debate whether homosexuality is a sin on a textual level. Instead of going into detail myself I am just going to link to people who do go into detail.

The only person in the new testament to speak out about homosexuality was Paul. The only reason he spoke out about homosexuality was due to the text, and if the text is wrong so is his interpretation.


The fact that modernity is so eager to make it a non-issue is pretty telling, IMO. Liberal/progressive theologians and those who worship so-called tolerance are also wont to reduce the exclusive truth claims in scripture as passé. Color me unsurprised.
