I would think that that would be the real question about whether or not to date him. I went out on a date with a mixed-race girl and it turned into the date from Hell as I started to realize that I know plenty of black women who are far less "culturally black" than she was. It was a sort of overcompensation, I think. Cultural differences are real and need to be considered. If he's part of the NY multiracial scene, though, you probably wouldn't have problems.
