It will be a very empty event. If the Olympics are about accepting others and their values then banning those with values we don't like seems sort of counterproductive. How are supposed to accept other cultures if we feel the need to silence and marginalize the parts of our own culture that are different?

Well, this may be me sticking my foot in it, but the olympics AREN'T about accepting everything. They are about celebrating diversity, hope, international community, etc. Not about allowing themselves to become a platform for any and all opinions. You can say she should be accepted, but allowing her to use the "fame" gained BY being part of the team to spread a message that is against the Olympic ideals is wrong. If you can't see that, we don't need to argue further. We won't agree.
