ALL testimony is contestable. No one is assumed to be telling the total truth. That's why we have trials.

Any legal professional will tell you that anything and everything in a Grand Jury indictment is subject to challenge during trial. The entire point of the matter is for the prosecution to show to a judge that they have enough evidence to have a trial. That's it. It is one side of the story and yes, they frequently have lies and inaccuracies.

If everything said during a Grand Jury was automatically true we wouldn't need trials. Everyone accused would be guilty. Period.

Also if you read the link Legolas posted below, he has pointblank stated he knew.


Really? I didn't get that from it. If you mean when he did his statement to the court that might well have been mandated and he might not have had a choice regardless of the reality.

When someone pleads guilty to a crime (whether they did it or not) they have to make a statement to the judge detailing the crime. For instance, when this was done with the Norfolk 4, they all made statements about their confessions. Had real justice been being served the judge would have thrown out their confessions and forced a trial as many of their 'confession statements' were actually wrong about key elements in the case, such as how the woman was beaten and killed.

The point I'm trying to make here is that the legal system is NOT perfect. Not even close. Even when a person is found guilty it ain't necessarily so.
