it was 90 days in evaluation which he didn't even finish, in addition to either probation or jail time.

The last bit was what the judge may or may not have gone back on, although the fact that the judge said "yah I might give you jail time" (despite the fact it's sleazy of him to do if he said otherwise) tells me he may have believed Roman deserved more time.

I don't think at anytime there was a serious consideration for 50 years.


What I've read (and yes it may be wrong) was that the 40 day 'evaluation' was supposed to be time served and that was supposed to be it.

Once they started talking about sending him for another (unecessary) evaluation his lawyer started asking questions and that's when he took flight.

Now, that could be inaccurate, but that's how I read it.

50 years was apparently the max sentence for that crime at the time. Whether they were serious or not, it would certainly scare most folks.
