Interestingly, IMDB claims that "some sources show that she was born in 1959, but she claims 1961", where you would expect the opposite, her claiming to be older than she genuinely was. Wikipedia has the 1961 birhtdate as a fact.


At the time she was (presumably) claiming the 1959 date. She only admitted the 1961 date in an interview on TV long after the fact in 2003. Weirdly this isn't in the main text of the Wiki article but is noted in the footnotes, which is odd.

Weird. I'm not even sure how you could do a civil case like that, particularly when a criminal case is open but stalled... but yes, that would be "quite vigorous" then.


Well, you can be sued in a civil case even if you've been found not guilty in a public prosecution (as OJ found out to his cost). The trick is to accuse them of a separate-but-related crime (since presumably double jeopardy is otherwise invoked). If you've not even been fully sentenced, presumably you can be sued for the original crime. That may be why Polanski eventually settled, as him being found guilty in a civil case could have negative ramifications on him later trying to clear his name in the USA.
