What really caught me about this is the idea, the possibility, of being among the first. To do the hard work that would make the whole prospect more palatable for those who came after, to take part in the inspiration of the world the likes of which we haven't seen since the Apollo missions.

In all truth, I won't be going. Even should the whole thing turn out to not be a pipe dream, I will turn 40 the year the mission is supposed to land, and I'm pretty sure my wife likes me where I am.

So I won't be going. But a big part of me wishes I could. Not to escape Earth, but to be among those who looked to humanity and said; "Let's go to the stars. Follow me."
