The FBI will continue its investigation. If it turns out that there is evidence Trump fired Comey to try to cover something up or impede the investigation, let's talk about it then. If, as expected, the investigation shows that there wasn't a connection between Trump and Russia, what will that change? Democrats will still accuse him of having a connection because they hate him. Try convincing some of my Republican friends that Hillary Clinton DIDN'T kill Vince Foster.
At the end of the day, though, it's really irrelevant. If it ever becomes something, then people in a position to do something about it will act. Otherwise, it will just be yet another way for Democrats and never Trumpers to calumny the President.
