Then let me ask a follow-up question: what would such a source sound like? Legolas Send a noteboard - 12/07/2019 11:39:39 PM

If you're saying there are virtually no sources that are balanced or center right, and you accuse a site like Politico of being blatantly and strongly left-wing, then what kind of articles and commentary would you expect to see in these strangely absent sources, that would be so different from Politico but also so different from far right sources?

View original postI am not interested in far right sources and I personally get most of my news from center left sources like NPR. The have an obvious bias but they do try to present both sides. I prefer to get news from sources that challenge my world view not play into it.

Certainly an admirable approach. I do that occasionally but not as a rule, though obviously I already have a somewhat broader range purely by reading news sources from different countries (I probably read more British and American news than Belgian, but still). But among American sources, I do seriously consider Politico as a mostly neutral website which is interesting for a) purely horse race, political junkie stuff, b) in-depth articles on less obvious aspects of American politics as well as history and c) some of their political columnists, with Rich Lowry certainly among those.
View original postFor political news I do like the Fox Sunday show with Chris Wallace. It on the Fox affiliate not Fox News.

It's funny how, as a foreigner who knows the US quite well in many (but far from all) aspects but mainly through the internet, I'm far more familiar with the dedicated news channels of CNN, MSNBC and Fox News than with the big mainstream channels which have so many more viewers. So yeah, I know Chris Wallace a little, but not his TV show.
