It's as simple as that for me. I know you will not agree with me as I will never agree with your interpretation of recent history. That's totally fine.
I don't blame The Russia for this war happening now. But Putin? Completely blame him; I think he may have become unhinged these past two years. He did not have to invade Crimea in 2014. He could have supported a referendum in Crimea so that the mistake of 1954 could have been righted. But that would have gone against Czar Vladimir's turn to extreme authoritarian rule.
The Russian people? I love them. Russian culture? Continue to love it. The current Russian government headed by Putin? Absolutely not. I remain committed to freedom, self-determination, the rule of law, freedom of the press, freedom of fair elections and freedom of the Russian people to choose their leaders. As I support Ukraine's right to exist and not be invaded by a bellicose leader hellbent on propping up his sagging popularity.
