I kind of agree with you but we should not imagine "release" that is Cathartic and thus easy to imagine, when we are dealing with an active shooter and the fog of war. Strong emotions are in that moment of an hour of hell, and mistakes are made when strong emotions occur. Training reduces mistakes but mistakes will occur even with the best of training and the best of humans for that is how the human arousal system works.

For example one of the shooting survivors smeared blood on her face from a dead classmate to appear dead, and she found her teachers cellphone and called the police. In this moment of extreme emotions (catharsis being the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong emotions) the child who is a survivor thought 3 hours had passed when it was a third of that.

I am distrustful of the police accounts right now for they have contradicted their stories. I hope we figure it out with video and other ways to shift through information but I seriously doubt I will be satisfied with the tick tock of what happened.

Sounds like shit happened that we are not able to comprehend. For example the police said that the police did not shoot any of the children by accident. One does not bring that up unless one is anxious and is trying to say things in defense, for that looks so bad, and one must hear themselves when they say it, that they do not realize it causes us to ask even more questions once that has been breached by the police officers themselves.

In sum this is fucked up, this hell.
