More in the way of a warning... ever since you posted about how excited you were playing Live I've more or less been expecting you to do something a tad bit reckless and more appropriate to that venue then this one. Actually it was pretty obvious you were doing something along those lines with Hieshyn, I just wasn't sure what it was. You probably have a small wad of new tricks and tactics you'd like to try out, and that's good, but make sure to thouroughly think out how they can backfire. Most tricks do, that's the one edge we always have on the DFs, they have to maneuver and trick or their odds of victory are slim, which is why we discourage townies from doing the same, it gives cover, it makes it easier to slide out of accusaiton, and if a townie lies, it can leave serious false trails everywhere.

Fortunetly, and this is why in the other post I said it was interesting, you're accusing Hieshyn is something of a minor acquittal, because he hypocopped you, not the other way around. You've been around too long not to know what the correct course of action for a DF is if someone hypocopped them guilty, especially if you have a RBer and the DFs usually have in recent games. This isn't a WIFOM case, you have nothing to gain from getting a lynch on someone who copped you guilty. Again, that's why it's interesting... I'm not accusing you I'm telling everyone your prob-town. What I am trying to do is warn people off trying to use this sort of trick in the future, because now someone does have a reason to try this trick and it is a WIFOM. Statistically, being hypocopped guilty hardly means that person is the cop - I get hypocopped guilty basically every game, and innocent, etc. So the risk isn't that great and the downside of a backfire isn't that bad because if it's genuine you're screwed anyway but at least your allies know who the cop is. See, now it's a WIFOM, but again, not on you, not this time. Nor are you def town off this, just a lot less likely than flat random.

But by and large, 'tricks' are prone to backfire on the town, not just the person who played it. HAndily, it's also the way we find DFs. Panic and kneejerk happen, but if you think back, it's almost always been someone who thought they were being clever instead. That's how we tend to bag DFs, and it's also how we get a lot of our false lynches too. People usually stick their head in the noose, the DFs just give 'em a little kick, and sometimes they don't do anything at all.
