That you would wish to avoid a direct attack on what you believe. That is certainly fair enough.

But such attacks do not in of themselves make a movie bad . I believe Dannymac's argument is against people who immediately declare a movie is rubbish simply because they took offense or perceived a personal attack. This might be a reason to avoid a movie for an individual, but it does not make the movie of poor quality.

Being generally against raping the earth of its resources and taking advantage or butchering the local inhabitants of a land, I, of course, had no reason to avoid it, but I did not enjoy the movie because it spoke to some of my values. I enjoyed the movie for its excitement. As an equestrian, I was enthralled with the sheer notion of a biological method for communing with ones mount (I cannot lie; this in itself could almost entirely redeem the movie for me ) I loved the vivid and alive world it showed. A world that's sorely lacking from mine. THAT is why I found it to be a good movie. Not its politics.

In anycase...my point is only that politics should not be the determining factor in a movie's quality.
