This raises another question darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 06/06/2010 04:13:25 AM
How many Damane are actually out there?

RJ said between 1-2% of the population had the ability. There's what 20M Seanchan? That's about 150k women with the ability. RJ also claimed that there is a much smaller portion of "sparkers" ... so what 25% of the total? That makes about 37.5k damane and 112.5k sul'dam? Seems like an excessively high number of damane. if they had that many they would have crushed even Rand and the Asha'man in no time ... perhaps it's more like 12% are sparkers, meaning 18k damane and 132k sul'dam? That seems to be a little more realistic since there have been battles with several hundred damane on each side, with the Forerunners bringing a couple of thousand along with them...

Obviously there are huge flaws here since damane can live for hundreds of years which would make for more larger numbers, but there likely a ton of casualties from all the unification wars to even that out. I'm also totally guessing at the Seanchan population

That doesn't make sense. Are you sure they don't put the BRACELET on the girls, not the collar? - 04/06/2010 01:35:08 AM 701 Views
