Shame has traditionally been one of the greatest ways of enforcing public order

In the WOT universe would spanking break completely so they had uncontrollable tears and were unsettled for a long time about it.
Adults i mean.
Adults i mean.
Semirhage and Cadsuane.
A public spanking, which is what we're really talking about, would probably unsettle most Aes Sedai and Windfinders, though not necessarily to the extent to which we saw with Semirhage. For one who demands such respect, and gets it, it would be very unsettling to be so publicly humiliated in such a childish way. But it's not about the spanking; it's about the public humiliation.
I just don't get the psychology, i don't think that way. "Public Humiliation" holds no fears for me, if it's even possible.
I guess it doesn't make sense as i don't think or hold the same emotion set. I don't get why being spanked in public would be humiliating, it's clearly a ploy, and for someone who i had thought was an actual proper psychopath to express such emotion seems weird.
But as i say i might not get it cause it's so different to my own way of looking at the situation.
When people were locked up in the stocks, the main punishment was that it was public. Every would see you bent over and know that you broke the law. The same with the Scarlet letter, it told every one that she had sinned against God.
Asian cultures still operate in this fashion, I see it at work in Korea everyday.
It would work on the Aiel too, although in a different fashion. You could break an Aiel by making them do enough useless work in public and drawing attention to it.
When the Wolf King carries the hammer, thus are the final days known. When the fox marries the raven, and the trumpets of battle are blown.
Semirhage vs Cadsuane - in Sanderson's words...

Oh, totally- but humans can act in more than one way. "Real" humans can be terrifying, too!

Nobody's even tried to kill them since Ishamael died, until he gave the order again in KoD.
