I understand how omniscient voice works. What I DON'T want from that writing voice is editorializing. I have no need of and don't want to know how the narrator feels about anyone's thoughts. All I want is the pure thought. This is along the same lines as learning that the narrator thinks that a particular thought from say Elayne is slutty, or one from Nynaeve is timid or whatever. Bad bad writing. An omniscient narrator should do ONLY narration, no commenting, editorializing or any other 3rd party stuff. I really don't care and really really really don't want to know what the narrator thinks, only what the characters think. Interpretation should be left to the reader, and reader alone.
