As he matures and accepts his role, I think the psychotic issues he was dealing with by trying to be some uber-warrior with no emotions will finally come to an end.

In the past he was a 20 year old farmboy, having to deal with sociopolitical issues that would stump Donald Rumsfeld.

Now he has more knowledge and insight of what is going on than anyone else on earth, and can therefore deal with everyone like a benevolent deity.

That's the difference. Cadsuane and co will have no choice but to accept it now, and cease their petty resistance. Hence, Rand will not have to resort to threats any longer.

Part of being a messiah is knowing whats good for everyone better than they do. And everyone includes Egwene and Cadsuane, and everyone else for that matter.

Rand is the messiah of this world. Time for him to start acting like one.
