It sounds like even LTT had never reached that stage of "pure faith", always had his self-doubts, didn't like being called Dragon and didn't embrace the name (so Ishamael said, anyway), thought that believing oneself to be the Creator's tool and Champion was pure arrogance. It sounds like only now Rand/LTT has accepted what he is, fully.
