We will know more in a few days, but I think that more was revealed in that first chapter than in most WOT chapters. First chapters usually posit the book's question or main character(s) problem to be solved. Tears From Steel does exactly that.
From the chapter we can deduce that Rand is losing it, a new sword will be critical, the Seanchan will figure prominently, Graendel and Semi are the likely antagonists, and Egwene has (even if unwittingly) insulted Rand.
But the chapter does more. It plants clues. The sword (that everyone thinks is Justice and I would bet a pretty penny that everyone is right), will likely aid or hinder Rand with Tuon-but will certainly be recognized by Tuon (the Seanchan are fastidious in their AH worship). Rand and LTT relationship moves to another level, with Rand now trying to answer the question at the HEART OF THE SERIES--how did LTT seal the bore and what went wrong. That question alone is mucho action. We also know that Rand was miffed by Egwene's not attending on his emissaries, which we could not have known before (guessed, not known). Last, we have a mystery--was Semi telling the truth about Rand's madness?
Oh, and I always thought (stupid me) that Rand knew Asmodean was dead. I never even imagined that Rand thought he up and went away.
Not RJ, but came to play! Thank you Mr. Sanderson!

I think Lews Therin's comments to Rand were the most hugely significant part of the chapter.
