You can't win a game of chess with just your pawns, nor with just your queen. All the pieces must work in concert to win.
But carry this analogy to it's ultimate end and it is the king that is ultimately the weakest piece, even if his survival is needed to win. And any time your pawn reaches the opponents other side, you can potentially create more queens and other powerful pieces that eclipse the king's capabilities.
