There is also the fact that we have some information from the points of view of the various forsaken i.e. Rahvin thinking that he or Sammael could overwhelm Graendal etc. I believe that Robert Jordan confirmed that the forsaken's own world view may not always match up to reality because of their own inflated sense of important. Put another way I might think that I could wipe the floor with Jackie Chan but just because I believe it 100% does not make it so.
