Min reported before that the visions around channelers tended to vary much more than non-channelers, with the effect getting even more confused and frenzied when they held the Power. If they were born "welded" to the Power, then the "something strange" could be that she didn't expect a child to have confusing images around them.
I was thinking that it could be learned, but it would have more to do with going with the will of the Pattern, moreso than a more straightforward process, like learning how to split flows or etc. We'll know fore sure when the final book comes out!
