Because a difference of a few % is negligible, and not even worth mentioning... Shannow Send a noteboard - 17/12/2011 10:54:49 AM
Because Asmodean matched Rand at a time when Rand was probably at around 80% of his full strength.

Because for Logain to notice a marked size difference between his and Rand's Deathgates, it means we aren't talking about a mere 5% difference.

"I saw how much bigger your Deathgates were than mine".

Even at a 10% strength difference, Logain's gateways would still be 11.5 by 11.5 feet vs Rand's 12 feet by 12 feet. Virtually identitical for all intents and purposes.

11.5 vs 12 feet is a difference that's probably not even noticeable when they're opening and closing while moving around in the middle of a chaotic Trolloc filled battleground.

So even 90% of Rand's strength is probably an upper limit for Logain's strength. I would argue that for the difference to be truly noteworthy, Logain's gateways should no bigger than 11 feet by 11 feet, putting him at about 85% of Rand's strength.

I believe the Forsaken that were mentioned as being close to Lews Therin's strength were mentioned so for a reason. Because they stood out from the rest. And I believe these were the only ones at 95% or above.

That would explain Asmodean matching Rand at around 80% of his strength, and Logain's gateways being notably smaller than Rand's.

Sammael's gateway size is shown as being at 93% of Rand's. I would argue that this difference would not even be noted on a battlefield. That's 11.6 by 11.6 feet vs Rand's 12 feet by 12 feet.

Virtually identical. So Logain's gateways are most likely smaller than these.

And Nynaeve notes that she is only barely able to keep Logain shielded - this when we know that you can be much weaker than someone and STILL keep them shielded if you shield them BEFORE they hold the source.

And more reasons, which we can get to, if this thread continues. The point is, the overall impression of a lot of evidence, leads me toward a conclusion that the top channelers are spread out over a greater range - probably from around 75%-99%, and that Nynaeve is at around 85.
