Robert Jordan himself needed help with the world he created. Besides, I'm sure it's a different story while Sanderson is writing. He has all the notes in front of him. Can't really blame him if he doesn't remember the minutia of the vast world he didn't create.
RJ did a pretty good job when answering questions. I rarely saw mistakes. I think I could do a pretty good job if people asked me about the series, as could many people on the site. I think it would require an intimate understanding of the series to write it, and I think Brandon hasn't read it enough and isn't familiar enough with certain aspects of the story. Forgetting that Perrin and Masema have met is a major error, not likely to escape proof readers, but enough to display his knowledge of the series.
