Nonsense... Etzel Send a noteboard - 15/11/2009 02:06:04 PM

A: "Brandon had been a fan for a long time before he got to find out who killed Asmodean. He said that he had heard arguments for every possible suspect, including the really crazy ones like Tam. So when he found out the real answer, he wasn’t shocked. His reaction was more 'Oh, those guys were right'. He said that the clues are there, but he never would have figured it out himself."

That's pretty much Graendal if you ask me. Most readers will be shocked to find out its Slayer. It's as likely as finding out Moiraine did it.

Anyone who read the WoT boards for some time, as BS did, knows that Slayer was seriously suggested as a possible killer. You would really be shocked, if it turns out that one of the foremost assassins among the Shadow assassinated a traitor, like he tried with Fain or managed with the BA? That's really not such a twist.

Slayer is incomparably more likely than the crackpot idea that Moiraine did it. Actually I think most people would just be shocked if the killer was a character on the Lightside, like Aviendha or Moiraine. Therefore this statement speaks against those ideas.

However, there is no way that BS wouldn't have figured that it might be Graendal. He isn't an idiot. On the other hand, it's not that easy to find all the clues from the books before LoC to determine that Slayer was the killer.

Therefore Graendal is pretty much ruled out. As I often pointed out, the theory anyway didn't make much sense, once you really think Asmo's murder through.

We (you, me & RJ) agree that it would be best to reveal it in the killer's PoV - 14/11/2009 06:40:33 PM 675 Views
