.....as Rand figured out in tGS, "killing" without balefire is meaningless.

She was still prevented from capturing or killing Rand.

Anyway, if the actions of the characters are to be determined on the basis of new knowledge, Rand has been the most useless. As we know, the Dark One is the threat, and the Forsaken are only his pawns. Exactly what has Rand done to defeat the DO?
