And the humans there act just like the ones here. You'd hope that our governments, armies, scientists and leaders would act with benevolence and vision, but the fact is we are all human.

That's the beauty of Jordan's story - these people are all just PEOPLE - and if they can make history change, why can't we?



For example- the Aes Sedai in New Spring are pretty believable, I think. Cold and imperious, but we see humanity in small touches.

There are "real humans" who are scary, and who are manipulative, and all the rest. I think the Forsaken and the Aes Sedai would have been better served, narratively, if they acted as their "stereotypical" selves- Lords of Evil, Ineffable Mistresses of the Unkown- and then let human touches influence them.

The Forsaken did this pretty well up until the last few books- Sammeal's self destructing messenger was both horrific and a statement that he could just afford to throw away resources because he was soooooooo powerful.

The Aes Sedai did it pretty well until the rebellion, and Joline (I really dislike Joline).
