And Verin reveals that she is BA with a statement that is obviously a lie "your dress is green" ... if an AS could say this sarcastically, why did Egwene immediately jump to the conclusion that Verin was not bound to the Oaths?
She said it as a plain statement, quite clearly different from Cadsuane.
I understand the concepts, I simply disagree that a woman should be able to speak words that are not true because she puts a different inflection on them.
Why would Egwene immediately jump on Verin not having ever taken the Oaths if it was as simple as convincing yourself that your intent was not to deceive?
If this is really the case any AS would be able to lie through her teeth just by convincing herself that she didn't mean to lie, or it's not her fault that some idiot didn't understand that she was being sarcastic.
Using the Sionid example, if pushed to explain all she had to say was "Well Perrin, you did actually tell me all of this" ... if asked to explain Cadsuane would say what? "I spoke untrue words, but I didn't mean for you to take them seriously"
Poof all AS "we can't lie" credibility is gone.

The sarcasm was for him repeating himself to her. The "remember" is the part she's refering to.

That's why I think this example of sarcasm works as opposed to Cadsuane who makes a false statement
