I think the oath she took prevented her from talking to a non-Black about the Black unless her death was guaranteed.

IIRC, she said the oath permitted her to talk only in the hour of her death. If she had any hope of being saved, the oath would have stopped her from talking.
The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
