I don't think those would work rAndy aL Send a noteboard - 09/12/2009 07:03:38 AM
I wonder why Verin had to die. I mean could she not just have drank the poison and told all this while she was with Rand. Rand could then have had Nynaeve to heal her afterwards.

Well, if she was expecting to live, then it wouldn't be the hour of her death. Rand doesn't have very good relations with most Aes Sedai, so he also isn't a good choice for revealing the BA to.

Or better yet, have someone still her. That would free her of all oaths. Then she could have had Flinn heal her and presto, oath free Black Ajah with a bonus of extra lifespan.

How exactly was she supposed to do this without revealing the DO's secrets? She also wasn't sure if the Oath Rod could be used to remove her Oaths, so she might not be able to ask for stilling in the first place.

Even if she really wanted to die out of guilt or something, why not just overchannel enough power to burn herself out. She could then have had many hours or days to describe plans of the Shadow in detail and answer questions. And only THEN commit suicide.

Not that easily. She would also run a big risk of killing herself outright, without revealing anything. Her letters also could not have been left, since she was assuming she could collect them again if she didn't die.

I don't think the sisters Rand stilled and who were healed tried to hide the fact that they were released from the oaths so Verin should have known of this loophole.

This felt a bit like a cheap way to boost Egwene at Verin's expense. Unless ofcourse Verin faked her death. That would be great.

That would be stupid. And impossible.

And does she know that Stilling breaks the Oaths? *NM* - 09/12/2009 06:16:54 AM 502 Views
She should. Some of the Aes Sedai who swore to Rand had been Stilled and then Restored by Flinn. - 09/12/2009 03:18:10 PM 1037 Views
Then, wouldn't the BA/Shadow just kill her off? I think it'd be kind of obvious what she did. *NM* - 09/12/2009 03:23:05 PM 656 Views
I think that's beyond the BA's capabilities. - 09/12/2009 03:48:03 PM 910 Views
Doesn't mean they experimented with it. - 09/12/2009 08:48:23 PM 957 Views
Rebels had no reason to research a way to break the oaths. Verin did. - 10/12/2009 02:00:21 AM 1012 Views
