Says the guy who falls back on "Bonfire and Candles" ... now that one of her quotes refutes what you think it's "one quote early on by Moiraine"
To be honest I don't put a lot of stock in the theory either... just brought it up as a side note. In fact I don't put a lot of stock in Moiraine quotes from anything prior to TSR ... she was wrong far too often

I didn't say it was untrue - I'm saying you should actually look at the quote. It even goes something along the lines of 'some say she hid her true strength'. It's vague even when Moiraine says it.
In truth I think Lanfear did hide her strength most of the time by hiding her potential. Coupled with the fact that I think she is considerably stronger than all of the female Forsaken, I think most men and women underestimated her strength and were overwhelmed and killed.
well actually all they really have to do is tie off an inverted weave and never think about it again. And Mesaana is ever so credible
She thinks she can match Semirhage, and will be delivering an army of AS to the DO too...

She thinks she can match Semirhage, and will be delivering an army of AS to the DO too...
*sigh* This is the sort of thing I'm talking about. Cyndane is the one channeler who's reduction in strength is reinforced to the point that it irritates us to be reminded of it again. What more do you need?
That doesn't tell us a whole lot, only that Cyndane lost some power (which we know), could have been through the loss of an angreal, which she immediately assumes Alivia is holding.
Because no woman can have a natural strength like Alivia threw at her. Channelers don't consider themselves reduced in strength when they lose their angreal or sa'angreal. Get a grip, man.
