Kerb was more subtle than most, but we've seen subtler.

And heavy Compulsion of the variety Graendal uses is said to be much more damaging.
She doesn't *only* use the heavy Compulsion. When it comes to her pets, she basically whipes their mind and rebuilds with what she wants. That isn't to say that she cannot do subtle forms of Compulsion...as we know that she can, since the other Forsaken acknowledge this.
~Jeordam
I think the "subtler" form she is capable of is more like what's going on with Kerb...He's able to do much more than just adore her, but is still brain damaged to the point where he cannot function (or even survive) once the Compulsion is lifted. My point is simply that EVEN if Graendal used the lightest, subtlest touch of Compulsion we've ever seen
there should have been some effect on Ramshalan (sp?) if it were lifted as opposed to if it never existed.Iltarude has really subtle Compulsion going on.
And Ramshalan was confused after the Compulsion disappeared but that can be just as easily explained by him remembering contradictory memories as a result of Balefire as it can by the after-effects of Compulsion dissipating/disappearing.
