I am somewhat disturbed at the thought of Vanishing mice, but I must say I am very much so at the thought of Vanishing KITTENS. Not only because it brings the kitten density of the world down (clearly the wrong direction), but also because these kids are really not entirely there when doing magics, and I have horrible visions of tails being left behind. Also, where do they go when they are Vanished? Is it like forced Apparating? Or do they disappear into nothing? Because if so, I am going to have WORDS with someone.




And I have to agree with the nay-crowd: having them sign their names to a parchment makes no sense (unless you know Hermione has bewitched it, which she should really have been more upfront about). The only purpose it would serve would be a compromising one if Umbridge caught hold of it. It is interesting how Harry feels like they have just signed a contract.
