not movie-Aragorn mind you. For a long time after the films came out I rejected my earlier Aragorn-infatuation. But having recently re-read the books (and forgotten the horror of the films), I am here to say that Aragorn is bloody amazing. Carrot's keeping Ankh-Morpork "safe", and his authority is very much present (and I would argue to a greater extent than in Carrot) in Aragorn.

And I love Pratchett, too.


It's not really comparable to kings who need amazing political skills, or who have to hold together disintegrating countries, or things like that.
