All I said was without the war there wouldn't have been a Holocaust. By which I mean there wouldn't have been anything even remotely comparable to what we now know as the Holocaust. I did not mean, obviously, that he wouldn't have killed any Jews, since he'd killed a number in the thirties. But a number that really doesn't compare to what happened later on. Wikipedia has it that there were about 200k Jews left in Germany at the beginning of the war; that's a very far cry from 6 million, and with such drastically lower numbers, it's not at all certain they'd even have bothered coming up with an "Endlösung".
