It would be the same as it was before this nonsense. EDITED Ghavrel Send a noteboard - 24/11/2010 06:18:57 AM
I also wouldn't mind having an air marshal on every flight. I don't think that's very cheap though.

Look, I have anxiety over flying that approaches crippling levels. The existence of terrorism does not help my mental state when traveling. There exists a (mercifully small) part of my mind that would like little better than for everyone to be strip-searched and cross-examined before gettin on a plane, but that isn't how our society works, thanks be to God.

The government should stop grandstanding and start helpin people realize that terrorism only really works when you let it. That doesn't mean stand back and watch a flight go down every month, but it also doesn't mean form a toxic culture of fear surrounding a largely illusory threat.

"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."
-William Pitt, member of Parliament, before the House of Commons.
"We feel safe when we read what we recognise, what does not challenge our way of thinking.... a steady acceptance of pre-arranged patterns leads to the inability to question what we are told."
