It is nice to have choices. I only have to watch an old movie from the 40's or 50's to remember just how much better things have gotten and how bad they used to be. At least we have viable choices now. They didn't then. I think the divorce rate was lower then not because marriages were happier but because too many women were financially and socially trapped in bad relationships with men that knew they had the upperhand.
