As for me, I'm a universalist, so I guess your criticism on that point is valid. I don't see why you say there's a distinction between Christianity and universalism. There have been universalist and exclusivist Christians since at least Origen. Even if Christ is the only way to salvation, it doesn't necessarily follow that people are going to end up damned.
Anyway, that's an aside. As to why having a Bible is good, my ill-formed point was that it's not needed from a prescriptive moral standpoint (i.e. "Thou Shalt Not" ). Just because morals are intuitive doesn't mean salvation is.
