I think their explanation makes sense and seems to be within the realm of possibility but it seems more like something made up to make the math work. Id it possible that there is a mechanism or force at play that we are not aware of yet? Quantum physics taught that things work differently on the very small scale so many there is something similar on the very big scale? No idea what that would just throwing out crazy layman ideas.
