My father served on the board at the local hospital when I was growing up (and the bank, which was cajoled as early as 1993 by the Clinton Administration to give out loans to people who didn't qualify). No-pays due to illegals were running the hospital millions of dollars in deficits every year. The hospital countered by raising costs for everything (now a couple of aspirin cost around $250). Insurance companies started complaining, the costs were adjusted down, but not down to where they would have been if the illegals hadn't been there in the first place.
