We wouldn't need it if it hadn't been for the spending related to Iraq and now the economic crisis, but Americans seemed to be able to live with it and still make money. Clinton did leave us with a budget surplus, after all.

I mean, there are no two ways about it, at some point something has to give. I'd prefer to see the government decrease spending, but it's painfully obvious that isn't going to be happening for a while.
