No, in a straight-up mafia game the goal would be to reduce the number of voting Town members as quickly as possible. In this case they could have gotten a Night Kill nad a modkill, doubly as efficient.

I claimed that the town should be focusing on eliminating the scum faction. This is not reaching, this is basic mafia game understanding.
I claimed that because there has been no Night Kill that can reasonably be attributed to the vampires, they are the least likely to be that scum faction. This is not reaching, this is simple deduction.

The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
