I thought it had been renewed. Was that the last episode ever?

I assume Beckett lives if the series continues... Unexpected really is the word.

I'm pretty sure it is renewed and they are just pretending. It's a pretty popular moneymaker at the moment, so ending it would be even more unexpected. Plus, I've heard things about what they are planning for September.

Ooo like what?

Mostly that there are plans. I saw something talking about the graphic novel, and that while we're waiting for September that should keep us amused.
