View original postAre we supposed to know or care who Max von Sydow's character is? It seems like he should have been connected to the old characters somehow.

I was wondering if he was General Madine from the Endor strike force conference in RotJ, but apparently the name is Lor San Tekka. Which makes me wonder why they referenced him being known from the past so much. But maybe this will come into play when he hear more about why Rey's family was leaving her behind.
