I'm supposed to go see the movie today, so I don't know the answer to that.

Is it the fact that they wear uniforms? Or that they have vehicles and weapons of a warlike nature? Because if it is their use of war-making equipment, then I'd have to say groups like al-Qaeda are military (and no, I am not in any way condoning AQ). My point is, what makes a group a "military" in the first place?

Without seeing the movie, I'm guessing that an argument could be made (and probably has been made somewhere) that the natives on this planet (the ones fighting against the humans at least) are terrorists.

Sure, I guess it says somewhere they are not military, but they sure LOOK LIKE military.

See, I wouldn't mind it so much if the bad guys weren't so lamely one dimentional. My annoyance by the heavy handed politics is blended by the heavier annoyance of the lazy scriptwriting. I'm not asking to have a Ben Linus here but a Doc Octopus would be okay.
