A reread of tFoH may be in order, then. LAnfear almost shields Rand, and is stopped only because he cuts her weaves. Rand is unable to believe she is so strong.


"Almost" does not count. She was not able to shield him while he was holding Saidin, that's my point.

And we know he was stronger now than he was then, not to mention more knowledgable - in particular at how to break shields...
