The sa'angreal was a necessary tool to achieve this, but it was not the critical component.
Umm? What?
How could Rand have cleansed Saidin without the CK? Even with the combined power of both CK statues it took hours upon hours for Rand to finish.
How long would it have taken had he tried to do it without the CK, pulling saidin with only his own natural strength. Months? Years? Decades? And that is assuming it would even have worked. We have no idea what would have happened had Rand stopped to rest in between. For all we know SL would have exploded instantly, despite the fact that only a tiny amount of taint would have been channeled into it.
I would say that without CK, the cleansing could not have happened.

I don't know if Semirhage was sacrificed or not. Either way the Semirhage quote set up tGS 6 books

I'd say that there was a pre-meditated plan or backup plan to sacrifice Semirhage

Moridin and SH knew that the CK could never defeat the dark one so they were happy to leave it

It could be, but I would still think they would have noticed the CK sitting next to the male a'dam
