One last thing RJ has said that the forsaken lie even to themselves hence Rahvin's belief that he could take Lanfear. Its probably a case that the forsaken who were always at the top of the pile are a lot more accurate in judging their abilities and that of their enemies hence they don't get carried away with overconfidence.

I rather agree with this, especially since, despite Aginor's teachings and Rahvin's thought that he could overwhelm Lanfear, neither of tried anything of the sort. The only one who did was Sammael, not as strong as the most powerful of the males, but who was prepared to take advantage of an opening, in his case an argument between Graendal and Lanfear, to wipe out both opponents - if he had not been restrained in producing a surprise attack, he might have wiped out two very powerful opponents.
