The test of the shawl is one-dimensional, but so are most Aes Sedai. As you said, they don't have the OP skills that they could if it weren't for this test. But, I wonder... did they decide to keep this test after the Trolloc Wars because they wanted AS to be so similar, or is it just unintended consequence?
